Film Review "Nico's Weg"

Hello people! In today's blog, I'll review a German movie titled "Nico's Weg" Hope you enjoy it!

"Nico's Weg" is a movie about a guy named Nico who visits Germany to meet his aunt. In this movie, Nico was representing as a Spaniard who lives in Sevilla. 

One day, he went to Germany to meet his aunt, Yara. When he arrived at the germans' airport, a little girl approached him and said that his bag looks cool. Later found that the name of the little girl is Emma. Emmas' aunt, Lisa that was on a call, realized that Emma talked to a stranger so, she apologized to Nico and brought Emma out with her. Then, Nico left the airport and wait for a taxi outside. Outside the airport, Nico met Emma and Lisa again. Emma called Nico to play with her and, that's when Nico being clumsy. He came over to Emma and Lisa, but he left his bag on the corner of a street. A random guy went to the spot where Nico left his bag then the taxi driver thought that it was his passengers' bag. So, he loaded it into the taxi. Nico then realized that his bag is taken with the taxi.

Luckily, Emma and Lisa willing to help Nico find his bag knowing that the bag is so precious for him because he put everything inside the bag and he doesn't even know where to go. Lisa drove him to the city while Emma taught Nico Deutsch so that he can adapt well to a whole new country. 

When Lisa stopped at a gas station, she met her friend, Max. Lisa told the problem they have and Max genuinely gave them a suggestion to ask for help from Lisas' father, who is a policeman. Fortunately, Lisas' father can help Nico find his aunt, Yara. Considering that, all Nicos' important pieces of stuff were in the lost bag, he had nowhere to go. So, Lisa brought Nico to her shared apartment to stay for a while. There, Nico met Lisas' friends and get along well with them. Later, Lisas' friends are about to hold a goodbye party for one of their housemates, Nawin. At the goodbye party, Nico met Sebastian, Nina, and Selma, who later help Nico to found his aunt. One of them has an idea to post Yaras' picture online so that they can find any information about Nicos' aunt. After waiting for a moment, someone leaves a comment, which leads them to find the bicycle store that Yara runs. A day after, Nico and Lisa went to the Yaras' bicycle store, but it ended up closed because Yara went out of the country because of plenty of things. Nico was so upset, but then, what else can he do? 

After that, Lisa brought Nico to her friends' restaurant. Max is the owner of the restaurant so, Nico helps him to run the restaurant. While Nico stays in Maxs' restaurant, Lisa working and also searching for a place where Nico can stay for a while. Because of all people about to go on a vacation, Nico no longer able to stay in that apartment. Lisa struggling to find a place to stay for Nico. So, when Lisa pick Nico up in Maxs' restaurant, she confesses that she can't find any place for Nico to stay. Then, an old lady who heard their conversation offering a place to stay for Nico. Nico happily accepted so he immediately moved to that old lady's house. There, Nico always made a mess. Every time he tried to cook something to eat, it always turns out bad. So, the old lady and Nico always ended up had a dish in Maxs' restaurant. 

On the other hand, Nicos' bag was stranded on the road. Evidently, Nicos' bag was stranded on a road near Selmas' house. Later, Selma walkthrough and recognize a bag that laid in the road. She immediately did a quick check and that's right! It's Nicos' bag. Selma ran to meet Nico to gave him his bag. Later, Nico was surprised and checking if there's something missing. But, thank god, his passport is safe. It's only some of his clothes that disappeared because 2 scavengers found Nicos' bag and took some of his clothes for their daily needs. Seeing that some of Nicos' clothes disappeared, Selma asked Nico to go shopping with her, and Nico just follows her. On the next day, Nico went to Maxs' restaurant again. There, they planned to play soccer together in the next day. But, before that all, there's something Nico realized from Maxs' restaurant. Nico found out that there's Yaras' photo on the wall. Later found that Max is a friend of Yara and he has the key to the bicycle store. Then, they went to the store with hopes that they can contact Yara. But, unfortunately, they can't contact Yara so they only can wait for Yara to come back. While waiting for Yara, Nico did a lot of things. He makes friends, helping Lisa in her daily-life, babysitting Emma, helping Max in his restaurant, play soccer, etc. He also learns German along the way and his Deutsch improved so much.

Until one day, Nico and Max were in Yaras' bicycle store then someone walks in. Yup, that's right, Yara finally came back to the Deutschland and meet her nephew, Nico.

Then, the movie ends here with a happy ending!!

So, that's how the summary of "Nico's Weg" movie. For me, it's a perfect movie for a beginner who wants to learn Deutsch. The language they used was so light and understandable. Even, I can understand what they're talking about without English subtitles. The story-line is interesting, too. My first impression about this movie is I think this movie will be so boring, but it turns out impressive and enjoyable. The casts were incredible, too. They act so well and I love the way they talk, showing expression, gesture, etc. Oh yeah, my favorite scene is when Nico babysitting Emma. I found that scene is so funny and heartwarming. I like how they become a partner in crime! The cinematography of this movie is pretty good, too. I'll give this movie 8 out of 10! This movie is so recommended to those who want to learn Deutsch. I love this movie!
